This course is for people who have limited experience in music and music technology and are looking to develop their knowledge.
What will I learn?
You will learn: recording skills; music sequencing; about the music business; and audio recording. You will also learn English and maths.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by a mixture of practical, written and project-based work.
What may it lead to?
Students that complete this qualification may be able to progress onto a Level 2 music course.
You will need three GCSEs at grade E including English and maths (or an equivalent qualification). Entry onto the course is subject to an interview, audition, and attendance at our summer school.
Additional Information & Other Costs
You will be expected to complete a minimum of 30 hours work experience. Workshops and guest speakers are invited to talk about their roles in the industry as part of the enrichment on the course. Many students make good use of the Students' Union to attend concerts and gigs.
This qualification will form the main part of your Canterbury College study programme. Our study programmes combine your main qualification and may involve work experience and Maths & English sessions.
