This is a practical introductory course into a wide range of skills to support your entry to the world of work, this course is designed for students interested in a career in business, office related roles, ICT, e-commerce, retail, customer service or business and travel.
Social media has changed the way we do business.
Around 70% of people use social media of some form and it is a brilliant marketing tool for businesses.
Learners will develop an introductory knowledge of the ways in which businesses use social media and the basic skills to set up and maintain social media for a business.
The course will also allow learners to explore entrepreneurship and introduce them to self-employment.
You will also have an introduction to self-employment, exploring and presenting enterprise ideas, building working relationships with customers and solving work related problems.
You will be assessed by a portfolio of internally and externally assessed written assignments, practical activities/events, observations, presentations and mood boards.
You will have the opportunity to visit various organisations to enhance your learning and put skills in to practice. Visits can include Stansted Airport, Bluewater Thorpe Park and Cruise visits.
You will also have industry specialists host educational workshops in topics such entrepreneurship, social media use in business and being self-employed.
