Brogdale CIC provide practical learning experience aimed to enhance skills, provide qualifications and equip young people for a positive next step into adulthood.
Craftworks is a post 16 specialist course where we primarily take students with EHCP's or similar and focus on practical and interactive learning. Small class sizes at our Walled Garden site mean Tutors and TA's can support each student to help them reach their potential.
A Typical Day at BCIC will involve being creative in all aspects, painting, drawing, making - there is so much to do! The Walled Garden site is an old Victorian garden where we have a purpose built log cabin to base in. It means the students get to be outside too and look and use the plants and nature around them.
Each student puts together a portfolio of their work which will include photos as evidence and some writing. Math & English are incorporated as Functional Skills which for example could be measuring out flower beds or the dimension of a colour wheel.
Students attend 4 days a week with one day being an off-site practical day to gain work experience.
We would love you to come along and take a look at our site! See the students in action and decide if we are right for you.
