This course is ideal if you want to increase your chances of working in the building trade. You will learn advanced bricklaying and masonry skills, what the current building regulations are, about the latest technology in the industry, and more.
What will I learn?
Advanced bricklaying and masonry skills. The course focuses on quantity surveying and refurbishment work with up-to-date knowledge of current building regulations and technological advances in the building industry.
How will I be assessed?
Criteria-based course with six units, knowledge test after each unit and a final multiple choice test. Practical skills are assessed through the construction of ten walls plus three timed building tasks including one scenario-based question.
4 Cs or 4s and a relevant full level 2.
Additional Information & Other Costs
You will be required to wear workshop PPE including steel toe cap boots.
Enrichment opportunities will include visits, activities and guest speakers.
1 - 2 hours for independent study should be set aside every week.
